Frederick Pitcher is the author and creator of this monadnocktrails.com website. I created it prior to the explosion of going on-line with cell phones. This is just a test page for use on cell phones and all devices. Also included in this page is a little about the author.
I have wandered over Mount Monadnock more than 1900 times. Since the beginning of 2011 I have kept track of how many miles I have hiked. As of mid-June 2018 I have hiked 4,895 miles on Mount Monadnock since January 2011. I have explored much of Mount Monadnock also it's trail history and a library of information about the mountain.
I was chatting with another hiker who said I ought to publish a book and share my knowledge of Monadnock. I thought about publishing a book when my brother inspired me to create a website on Monadnock. I may still publish a book on Mount Monadnock.
I also completed the original 111 High Peaks of the Northeast which stretches from Maine, NH, VT to New York and includes all the 48 4000 foot peaks of the White Mountains as well as the 46 High Peaks in the Adirondacks of New York. I have hiked the Vermont's Mount Monadnock 23 times and at least once every month of the year.
There is a lot of fantastic hiking in the northeast, however, my favorite mountain peak is Grand Monadnock. There is so much to see on a hike of this isolated mountain in central New England. There are many ridges, cliffs and dells to wander on a day hike of Grand Monadnock.MonadnockTrails.com Website
